Gaps found in insurance coverage in Indian households

Global reinsurer Swiss Re in its mortality protection gap report for Asia Pacific has found the gap in India to be around $8555 billion in 2014. While insurance coverage has seen an increase in the country it is not adequate to fill the protection gap. The study showed that India was at the top with respect to ratio of protection lacking or protection needed.
